Abstract:Abstract: This study aims to examine the influence of financial technology (fintech) utilization and financial literacy levels on access to financing among assisted Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan City.…
ity. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through a survey of 330 respondents and in-depth interviews with selected MSME actors. Quantitative analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that both fintech and financial literacy positively and significantly affect access to financing. The coefficient of determination shows that these two variables explain 42.4% of the variance in financing access. The qualitative findings highlight major adoption barriers, including limited digital infrastructure, low digital literacy, and concerns over data security. This study also employs the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) framework to assess the psychological readiness of MSMEs in adopting technology. The findings suggest several policy implications, including the need for continuous digital literacy training, enhanced data protection, and stronger collaboration between local governments and fintech providers to establish a more inclusive and sustainable digital financial ecosystem. This research is part of a five-year roadmap to support the gradual digital transformation of MSMEs in the Medan region.

Abstract:Abstract: Inclusive disaster management is a crucial aspect of humanitarian efforts, ensuring that vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, have equal access to early warning systems, evacuation procedures,…
, and emergency aid. This study aims to develop a model for engaging persons with disabilities in disaster response, focusing on experiences from the 2022 Cianjur earthquake. The research employs a qualitative case study approach, incorporating in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and policy analysis. The findings reveal that persons with disabilities face significant barriers in accessing disaster-related information, inadequate disability-friendly evacuation shelters, and limited involvement in disaster response planning. However, best practices were also identified, including the adaptation of audio-visual early warning systems and the active participation of disability communities in emergency response efforts. Based on these findings, this study recommends an engagement model that includes capacity building for persons with disabilities, strengthening inclusive policies, and integrating their representation into disaster management structures. This model is expected to enhance disaster preparedness and response efforts, ensuring greater inclusivity and effectiveness for all community groups.

Abstract:This study aims to explore and understand the dynamics of community participation in the village development planning process (Musrenbangdes) in Tambayoli Village, Soyo Jaya District, North Morowali Regency. Using a qualitative…
itative approach, data were collected through purposive sampling, open data collection methods, and analysis of both textual and visual materials. The primary methods of data collection included participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document review. The findings reveal that, although some awareness of Musrenbangdes has been achieved through existing announcement systems, the overall effectiveness of community participation remains limited. Many residents perceive the process as a formality, with decisions dominated by specific stakeholders, leading to low levels of trust and engagement. The study identifies significant barriers to active participation, such as inadequate information dissemination, lack of transparency, and limited involvement in both the implementation and benefit-sharing of development projects. The research suggests that for Musrenbangdes to be more effective, there needs to be a concerted effort to enhance transparency, ensure equitable information distribution, and create a more inclusive participatory framework. These findings have implications for improving governance and promoting sustainable development at the village level.
Abstract:This study aims to explore strategies and techniques to overcome verbal communication barriers in an academic context, particularly between lecturers and students during the completion of final projects at the State Islamic…
mic University of North Sumatra (UIN-SU). Using interactive communication theory and uncertainty reduction theory, this research provides a framework for understanding and addressing these barriers. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, direct observation, and related document studies. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify patterns and trends in verbal communication. Triangulation, peer debriefing, and external checks were used to ensure data validity. The research results indicate that the communication model implemented by lecturers greatly influences the effectiveness of guidance and the quality of students' final projects. Communication barriers are often caused by misunderstandings in written communication and differences in expectations. Proposed solutions include effective communication training for lecturers, the use of written communication guidelines, and regular group and individual guidance sessions. The integration of communication technology such as e-learning platforms and online collaboration tools is also suggested to enhance the communication process. By understanding the dynamics of verbal communication and overcoming existing barriers, this research aims to improve the quality of academic guidance and student outcomes, as well as prepare them for communication challenges in the professional world. This study is relevant not only in the academic context but also has broad practical implications.

Abstract:Women engaged in marine product processing play a crucial role in the national fisheries value chain, yet this strategic contribution has not been matched with formal recognition, access to resources, or decent welfare levels.…
evels. This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity and social factors on the empowerment and welfare of marine product processing women at the National Fisheries Port (PPN) Karangantu, Serang City, Banten, as well as to formulate a development strategy based on the synergy of these two factors. This research employs a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, combining quantitative methods through PLS-SEM analysis on 235 respondents, and qualitative methods through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results show that religiosity and social factors have a positive and significant effect on women’s empowerment, which in turn impacts welfare improvement across economic, social, and psychological dimensions. Findings also reveal that religious values which currently focus mainly on ritual aspects, alongside patriarchal social norms, serve as key barriers; meanwhile, community support and the integration of religious values into economic activities act as major reinforcing factors. Based on SWOT analysis, this study proposes strategies for strengthening local value-based institutions, integrating empowerment programs with religious activities, and advocating for policies that support coastal women. This research contributes new insights by presenting an integrated model of religiosity and social dimensions in the empowerment of women in the fisheries sector, an area that has not been widely explored in previous studies.

e the perceptions and experiences of beginner investors in making investment decisions in the digital era. Using a qualitative research approach with a phenomenological perspective, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with beginner investors who actively use digital investment applications. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes related to investors’ experiences and decision-making processes. The findings reveal that investment decision-making among beginner investors is influenced by several interconnected factors, including the accessibility and usability of digital investment platforms, the influence of social media and online communities, the development of financial literacy, and psychological experiences related to investment gains and losses. Digital investment applications play a crucial role in lowering barriers to market participation by providing user-friendly interfaces and accessible financial information. However, reliance on social media as a source of investment information may also expose investors to misinformation and speculative investment behavior. In addition, emotional responses such as confidence, fear, and uncertainty often influence investment decisions among beginner investors. Overall, the study highlights that investment decision-making in the digital era is a multidimensional process shaped by technological accessibility, social influence, financial knowledge, and psychological factors. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of investor behavior in digital financial environments and emphasize the importance of financial education and responsible investment practices.
