is a procession of Qur'an khatam which is an important part of the traditional wedding series. This research aims to examine the symbolic meaning and cultural values in the Mappanre Temme tradition and its relevance in the life of modern society. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that this tradition contains religious, educational, social, and moral values. Apart from being a symbol of the spiritual readiness of the bride-to-be, this tradition is also a medium for the preservation of Islamic values and local culture. However, modernization also affects the meaning of this tradition, so sustainable preservation efforts are needed.

Data were collected via observation and note-taking, then classified according to Searle’s five categories (assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, declarative) and analyzed through three stages: data collection, analysis, and presentation. The findings reveal that illocutionary speech acts in the film Norah are dominated by directives in the form of commands, prohibitions, and invitations, which highlight the speaker’s role in controlling actions. In addition, expressive and commissive acts appear in the form of advice, requests, and polite expressions that function to maintain harmony and interpersonal closeness. Overall, the use of illocutionary acts in the film reflects social relations and the dynamics of everyday interaction in rural Arab society.

Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif sangat penting dalam lingkungan kerja birokrasi guna mendukung koordinasi dan produktivitas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental dengan desain One-Group Pretest-Posttest. Sebanyak 20 orang ASN berpartisipasi dalam program pelatihan yang dilaksanakan selama satu hari dan terdiri atas ceramah, pelatihan, permainan peran (roleplay), serta relaksasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan skala komunikasi interpersonal yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Hasil analisis menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata dari pretest (M = 70.60) ke posttest (M = 77,75). Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,013(p < 0,05), yang mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan asertif secara signifikan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal para pegawai. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pelatihan asertif sebagai salah satu bentuk intervensi yang dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hubungan kerja di lingkungan birokrasi pemerintahan.

ar, cross-sectoral cooperation is needed. Lecturers of The Communication Science Study Program of Universitas Amikom Purwokerto took the initiative as facilitators by partnering with North Community Health Center staff to conduct a community service as an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In this event, the facilitators conducted socialization and training methods for health cadres on how to communicate assertively with breastfeeding mothers by emphasizing acceptance, empathy, support and openness. The training was carried out for one week, included four villages within the Community Health Center working area, namely Grendeng, Bancarkembar, Sumampir and Pabuwaran. This community service has a good impact to the health cadres and The Community Health Center. The 90% target of exclusive breastfeeding will be reviewed by the end of 2021. However, the health cadres and The Community Health Center have more self-confidence to convince breastfeeding mothers to look after their children better by giving them the exclusive breastfeeding. In turn, the target will be achieved.

Abstrak: Cakupan ASI Eksklusif di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Purwokerto Utara 2 baru mencapai 76% pada pertengahan tahun 2020. Untuk mencapai target 90% cakupan ASI Eksklusif pada akhir tahun, dibutuhkan kerjasama lintas sektoral. Dosen Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Amikom Purwokerto berinisiatif menjadi fasilitator dengan bermitra dengan Puskesmas dalam melakukan pengabdian masyarakat sebagai bentuk pelaksanaan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Pada kegiatan ini fasilitator menggunakan metode sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada kader kesehatan tentang bagaimana berkomunikasi secara asertif dengan mengedepankan penerimaan, empati, dukungan dan keterbukaan kepada ibu menyusui. Pelatihan dilakukan selama satu minggu, dan meliputi empat desa yang berada dalam wilayah kerja puskesmas, yaitu Grendeng, Bancarkembar, Sumampir dan Pabuwaran. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mempunyai dampak baik terhadap kader kesehatan dan Puskesmas. Target 90% ibu menyusui memberikan ASI eksklusif akan direview pada akhir tahun 2021. Namun, para kader kesehatan dan Puskesmas merasa lebih percaya diri dapat meyakinkan kepada para ibu menyusui untuk dapat memberikan ASI eksklusif kepada anak-anaknya dan pada gilirannya target tersebut dapat tercapai.

The results show that the role of mothers as agents of masculinity enculturation in Nias ethnic boys in Tegal Sari Mandala II Village emphasizes the instilling of masculine values through daily care that is appropriate to the context of urban life. Mothers instill the value of courage by accustoming children to dare to speak, appear, and defend the truth, while building strength through emotional control and assertiveness to be able to face pressure, develop resilience through independence, discipline, and adaptability, and teach leadership through responsibility, decision-making, and the application of traditional leadership values such as si'ulu and si'ila. The main challenges faced by mothers include the stubbornness of children, the limited role without a husband figure for single parents, and the negative influence of social media and diverse urban environments. Mothers make various efforts to overcome these obstacles by implementing a firm but loving parenting style, providing motivation when children experience failure, and involving other male family members such as uncles or church members to provide advice. The implementation of traditional Nias ethnic masculinity values is still attempted through oral narratives, the use of digital technology to demonstrate the Fahombo (Stone Jumping) tradition, and the involvement of boys to attend and witness various Nias ethnic traditions in urban areas to maintain their ethnic identity amidst modernity
