Abstract:This study analyzes the determinants of food insufficiency prevalence across 34 provinces in Indonesia using a quantile regression approach. The research focuses on three key variables: the Food Security Index (IKP), rice…
e productivity (PVP), and per capita food expenditure (PPM), using 2023 cross-sectional data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). Results from ordinary least squares (OLS) and quantile regression at the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles reveal that the Food Security Index has a consistent and significant negative effect on food insufficiency across all quantiles, with the strongest influence observed at the higher quantile (τ = 0.75). In contrast, rice productivity is not statistically significant at any quantile, while per capita food expenditure is only marginally significant at the 25th quantile. These findings suggest that improvements in food security contribute significantly to reducing food inadequacy, especially in regions with high prevalence rates. However, the impact of rice productivity and food spending varies across different segments, implying that context-specific policies are needed. The study recommends targeted government interventions to enhance food access, affordability, and regional food security equity.
Abstract:This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, minimum wage, unemployment, and the Human Development Index on income distribution inequality in 6 provinces in Sulawesi during the period 2013-2023. This study…
y uses quantitative analysis with the panel data regression analysis method using the Random Effect Model (REM). The data for this research is secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Indonesia. The research results show that simultaneously, independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. However, partially, economic growth and the minimum wage have a negative and significant effect on income distribution inequality, while unemployment and the human development index do not affect income distribution inequality. The results of the coefficient of determination test show that the independent variables explain 49% of their influence on the income inequality variable, while the remaining 51% is explained outside the variables.
Abstract:The purpose of this study is to analyze how government policies related to agricultural facilities and infrastructure have an impact on rice production in Indonesia. This study uses panel data from 34 provinces in Indonesia…
sia observed for 8 years from 2015 to 2022. Maximum Likelihood (M) Robust Least Square Method (RLS) regression method was used in this study. The results showed that all variables studied, namely extension, irrigation development, reservoir development, tractor assistance, and subsidized fertilizer, had a positive impact on rice production in Indonesia. Therefore, to achieve food security and improve the economy of farmers, the government must continue and develop these agricultural policies.
Abstract:Indonesia, an archipelago with a diverse and growing population of 278.69 million as of mid-2023, faces both advantages and challenges in its pursuit of becoming a developed country. The key challenge lies in the unequal…
distribution of infrastructure development, especially in remote areas. Economic growth, driven by increased goods and services, is closely tied to infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and water distribution. This study analyzes the impact of these infrastructural elements and labor force participation on economic growth, measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), across 34 provinces from 2017 to 2021. Using panel data regression, the results reveal that road length, electricity distribution, and clean water distribution have significant positive effects on GRDP. However, labor force participation shows an insignificant impact. Together, these variables explain 57% of GRDP growth. The findings highlight the critical role of infrastructure in economic development, with provinces like Jakarta leading the growth while regions like North Maluku lag behind. Improving infrastructure and addressing regional disparities are essential to enhancing Indonesia’s overall economic performance.
Abstract:This research aims to analyze the variable influence of the amount of clean water distributed, waste generation, B3 waste from the manufacturing industry that is managed, and creative economy industry workforce on the GRDP…
DP of 15 Provinces in Indonesia. The analytical tool used is panel data regression. In the overall research period, the amount of clean water distributed had a positive and significant effect on GRDP. Meanwhile, waste generation has a positive and insignificant effect on GRDP. Meanwhile, processed B3 waste from the manufacturing industry has a negative and insignificant effect on GRDP. Meanwhile, creative economy industry workforce had a positive and insignificant effect on GRDP throughout the research period.
Abstract:Central Sulawesi has been known as one of the disaster-prone areas, especially after the 2018 disaster which resulted in liquefaction, tsunamis and earthquakes occurring simultaneously. This large-scale natural disaster…
caused both physical and non-physical losses, until finally the government made every effort to ensure conditions returned to normal. The government's efforts to improve infrastructure and public facilities have been realized, including improving the economic sector and providing permanent housing for disaster survivors. However, on the other hand, post-disaster causes poverty and unemployment, especially in Palu City. Even though the open unemployment rate has currently decreased from 16,960 people (2020) to 15,302 people (2021), the number of poor people in the same year has increased to reach 28,600 people compared to 26,890 people in 2020. On this basis, the post-disaster recovery process must be carried out intensively, involving various stakeholders. The aim of this research is to find out what role stakeholders play during post-disaster recovery, especially in overcoming poverty and unemployment levels in the city of Palu. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews and documentation. Interviews were aimed at stakeholders or related agencies, including the Regional Poverty Alleviation Coordination Team (Tim Koordinasi Pengentasan Kemiskinan Daerah-TKPKD) for provinces and districts/cities throughout Central Sulawesi, P5TK for the Manpower and Transmigration Service, the Training Development Division for the Expansion of Placement and Productivity of Nakertrans Workers, as well as communities affected by the disaster. Documentation was carried out by obtaining data from journals, news and BPS reports for the city of Palu in figures for 2022. This research was carried out within one year and used quantitative descriptive methods.
Abstract:The main goal of this study is to ascertain how poverty is affected in 16 Indonesian provinces by which is the Human Development Index, gross regional product, and minimum salaries in each province. Multiple linear regression…
ssion analysis is the method utilized for analysis. The Fixed Effect Model is the estimate technique used for panel regression models. The analysis’s findings demonstrate that the provincial minimum wage has no discernible impact on poverty, indicating that raising the minimum wage does not always translate into more prosperity or a decline in poverty. In the meantime, poverty is negatively impacted by both the Human Development Index and the Gross Regional Domestic Product, which means that poverty is significantly negatively impacted by both the HDI and GRDP.

h the analysis of employs panel data covering 32 provinces in Indonesia from 2011 to 2021. The research findings indicate that population density, agricultural land, and FDI have a positive influence on deforestation in Indonesia, while GRDP per capita exhibits a negative correlation. Behind the research findings affirming the factors contributing to deforestation in Indonesia, government policies also play the most significant role in controlling the deforestation trend in Indonesia, either exacerbating or ameliorating the state of forests.
Abstract:Mental health is a strategic issue in economics because it affects the quality of human resources and regional economic productivity. This study aims to analyze the impact of schizophrenia, depression, and suicidal ideation…
ion on economic losses across provinces in Indonesia and to examine the role of depression treatment as a mediating variable. The study employs a quantitative approach using explanatory research and a cross-sectional design based on secondary data from 2023. Data were obtained from the Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and Regional Gross Domestic Product (PDRB) data from the Central Statistics Agency, with 38 provinces in Indonesia as the units of analysis. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, multiple linear regression, and causal mediation analysis. The results of the study indicate that schizophrenia, depression, and suicidal ideation have a significant negative effect on economic loss, as proxied by per capita GRDP. Depression is the variable with the greatest negative impact on regional economic productivity. Furthermore, treatment for depression was found to act as a significant mediator capable of mitigating the negative impact of depression on economic loss. These findings indicate that improved access to mental health services contributes to increased community economic productivity and a reduction in regional economic losses. This study makes a theoretical contribution to the development of development economics and health economics research through the integration of mental health variables and regional economic productivity. Practically, the research results underscore the importance of integrating mental health services into regional development policies to improve the quality of human resources and reduce economic loss in Indonesia.
