Indonesia has enormous geothermal energy potential due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire. One of the regions with this potential is Tawa Village, East Central Bacan District, South Halmahera Regency. However, preliminary observations revealed that students at SMA Nurul Hasan Bacan Tawa had limited understanding of the potential and utilization of geothermal energy as a renewable energy source. Learning activities at the school have primarily focused on general theoretical concepts and have not optimally integrated local potential as a contextual learning resource. Consequently, students have not been able to relate the knowledge acquired in the classroom to the natural resources available in their surrounding environment. This Community Service Program aimed to enhance students' geothermal energy literacy, foster environmental awareness, and strengthen their understanding of the importance of renewable energy in supporting sustainable development. The program was conducted on March 23, 2026, at SMA Nurul Hasan Bacan Tawa and involved 32 participants, consisting of 26 students and 6 teachers. The program employed a participatory-educational approach through preparation, material presentation, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, observations, and questionnaire-based evaluations. The learning materials covered the basic concepts of geothermal energy, geothermal potential in Indonesia and Tawa Village, the benefits of geothermal energy as a renewable energy source, and its contribution to environmental conservation and sustainable development. The results demonstrated an improvement in students' knowledge and understanding of the geothermal energy potential in their region. This improvement was reflected in more active participation during discussions, a greater ability to relate renewable energy concepts to their local environment, and increased awareness of the importance of protecting and utilizing natural resources responsibly. Furthermore, the program strengthened contextual learning through collaboration between the university and the school in developing education based on local potential. Therefore, local potential-based geothermal energy outreach can serve as an effective strategy for improving energy literacy, promoting environmental awareness, and supporting sustainable development among young generations.
Abstract:This study explores the application of the Value-Based Management (VBM) approach in analyzing the financial efficiency of renewable energy projects. As the global demand for clean and sustainable energy increases, renewable…
ble energy projects play a strategic role in the energy transition but are often faced with challenges of large initial investment, technological risks, and regulatory uncertainty. The results show that the application of VBM in evaluating renewable energy projects can improve the quality of investment decision making by considering both financial and non-financial aspects holistically. VBM encourages companies to be more selective and strategic in choosing projects that are not only economically feasible, but also socially and environmentally sustainable. In addition, this approach provides a strong framework for aligning managerial objectives with shareholder interests, improving corporate governance, and strengthening transparency in the process of evaluating and reporting project performance.
Abstract:This study investigates the role of acquisition premiums in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and their impact on shareholder wealth, focusing on five major Indian deals in pharmaceuticals, retail, banking, steel, and renewable…
able energy sectors. Potential synergies often justify acquisition premiums ranging from approximately 15% to 40% above target companies’ market values. However, market responses suggest that such premiums may not consistently result in value creation for acquiring firms' shareholders. Empirical findings reveal mixed outcomes: Sun Pharma’s acquisition of Ranbaxy led to a 9.8% share price increase within five days, while Tata Steel’s high-premium acquisition of Bhushan Steel saw only a 1.7% gain. In contrast, deals like Reliance–Future Retail and Tata Power–Welspun Power showed minimal or negative returns, despite sizable premiums. These patterns indicate that premium size alone is not a reliable predictor of post-deal shareholder wealth creation. The study concludes that M&A success depends more on strategic fit, market timing, and sectoral dynamics than on the premium offered. This analysis contributes to the broader M&A discourse by offering evidence-based insights into how premium valuations can either maximise or dilute shareholder value, aiding investors, corporate strategists, and policy analysts in deal assessment.

Abstract:The design of a lighting automation system for dragon fruit plants uses an LDR sensor as a light intensity detector. This system is supported by a solar module with a capacity of 10-20 watts to supply power to a 12V battery…
ery which is paralleled to 24V. This voltage was then changed by the inverter to 220VAC to light 10 lights as research samples. Tests show that the LDR sensor works optimally at 5VDC voltage. If the voltage supplied is less or more than 5VDC, the sensor cannot function properly. Analysis of the conversion of ADC values to output voltage shows consistent results according to the test table. In addition, using 12VDC voltage directly on the LDR causes the sensor to not function because the LDR is designed for low voltage (≤5V). Without a suitable resistor, excessive current can damage sensor components. The system design is able to minimize the use of electricity sources from PLN and is an energy-saving solution for lighting dragon fruit plants in the field.
