Tune Into Gen-Z Groove: Exploring Gen-Z Reception of Music on Radio Prambors Medan

Miranti, Safira Putri, Sikumbang, Ahmad Tamrin
Abstract: This article aims to explore and understand how Generation Z in Medan responds to and interacts with music broadcasted by Radio Prambors, a popular radio station among young people. This study is crucial for identifying… the dynamics between the musical preferences of the younger generation and the way radio content is presented in the digital era, as well as its implications for broadcasting strategies. Using a qualitative approach, this research involves in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis to gather data from Generation Z listeners. Content analysis is used to interpret audience reactions to the music programming, with a source triangulation approach to enhance data validity, combining interviews, social media content analysis, and listener surveys. The research findings reveal three categories of audience reception: hegemony, where listeners fully accept the music choices presented; negotiation, where listeners are satisfied but offer suggestions for a more diverse genre presentation; and opposition, where some less featured music genres cause dissatisfaction among listeners. Furthermore, the interaction between listeners and the radio station shows that Radio Prambors Medan functions not only as a music provider but also as a mediator in a broader communication network that influences the musical tastes and preferences of its listeners. The discussion in this study integrates Manuel Castells' Network Society theory to explain how social and digital networks affect media consumption and interaction among Generation Z, highlighting the crucial role of digital technology adaptation in radio programming strategies. By understanding these dynamics, Radio Prambors Medan can more effectively craft strategies that appeal to its listeners, ultimately maintaining its relevance in the rapidly changing media landscape. The recommendations resulting from this study emphasize the importance of broader digital technology use and more intensive social media interaction to enhance listener engagement and enrich their listening experience.

Abstract: Information technology in the era of globalization is developing rapidly in people's lives. One of the social media that is popular, especially among teenagers and is widely accessed on smartphones, is Instagram. The use… of social media Instagram has a negative impact so that it can worsen body image. This research aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of Instagram use and body image in adolescents. This research uses quantitative methods and sampling is carried out using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The total population is 190 students at Beringin Ratu High School. The sample size was 78 students. The data analysis method used is Pearson product moment correlation with computer assistance, namely using statistical packages for social science (SPSS) 21.0 for Windows release. The results of data analysis show a correlation (r) of -0.390 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This proves that there is a relationship between the intensity of Instagram use and body image and it has a negative direction. The higher the intensity of Instagram use, the more negative the level of body image and vice versa, so the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is accepted.

The self-confidence scale consists of 25 valid items with a validity coefficient ranging from 0.395 – 0.908 and a reliability coefficient of 0.920 (>0.9), very reliable criteria. The body shape dissatisfaction scale consists of 19 valid items with a validity coefficient ranging from 0.313 – 0.719 and a reliability coefficient of 0.780. The results of the two variable correlation tests show a negative relationship between body shape dissatisfaction and self-confidence with a bivariate coefficient of Rˣʸ=-0.335 with p=0.000 (p<0.05). Thus, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between form dissatisfaction and self-confidence in a negative direction for class X female students at SMAN 1 Cikampek.

Analysis Of the Reasons for Merchants’ Reluctance to Accept Electronic Payment Methods

Mansour Omar Altwergi, Fouad
Abstract: This study aims to determine the reasons behind customers' reluctance to adopt electronic payments and how these factors relate to their values. To identify the characteristics of electronic payments that customers find… objectionable and to look into the relationships between those characteristics and people's values by looking at the effects of those characteristics; to offer advice to financial institutions and service providers on how to develop appropriate strategic plans to promote electronic payments in Libya. To achieve these research objectives, the means-end chain (MEC) theory is applied in combination with hard laddering interviews as a data collection method. Subsequently, the data is analyzed using the Association Pattern Technique (APT) to produce the Hierarchical Value Map (HVM). The HVM identifies five main obstacles that keep customers from using electronic payments: a lack of awareness about the benefits and security of electronic payments, a lack of laws protecting users of electronic payments, the unpopularity of electronic payments, the cost of transactions, and the lack of e-payment discounts. The Value Map also revealed that the most important value, safety, can explain the bulk of customers' reluctance to accept electronic payments. The respondents also expressed significant concerns about the economy and the convenience of e-payments. The report offers suggestions for banks and service providers to increase e-payment usage based on these findings.

The data analysis method used in this research is Product Moment Correlation. Based on the calculation of r Product Moment analysis with coefficient value (rxy) = -0.579 and coefficient (r2) = 0.336 with p= 0.000 < 0.05. These results show that the hypothesis proposed in this research is accepted, namely that there is a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and stress. This means that the lower the emotional intelligence, the higher the stress. Another result obtained from this research is that emotional intelligence at the Faculty of Psychology, Medan Area University is indicated to be low with an average empirical value obtained of 86.35, while stress is indicated to be high with an empirical value obtained of 129.16.

Reyhan Kama, A. S., Rossalina, Lolla, Nugroho, Syaifudin
Abstract: Practices that use methods that are not scientifically acceptable, such as psychics and traditional health services, are part of cultures in various parts of the world, tribes, races, and throughout the history of human… civilization until now. This research uses a qualitative, phenomenological approach, which is based on the theory of "Scientifically Unaccepted Beliefs" developed by Harvey Irwin. The data collection process was carried out by interviewing individuals who were practitioners of traditional health using energy techniques. Authentication regarding participant practices is carried out by documenting official letters from the government of the Republic of Indonesia that acknowledge these practices. Based on data analysis carried out on the results of interviews with two participants, it is known that there are unique aspects in their lives that support the formation of beliefs about things that cannot be accepted scientifically. The research results also found that each participant had a certain motivation to carry out each service practice using methods that were not scientifically acceptable.

The Relationship of Non-Food Consumption Expenditures, Early Marriage, Proper Sanitation and Active Posyandu on Stunting in Indonesia 2017-2021

Windarti Lutfia Sukadi, Tri, Ratih, Arivina
Abstract: Stunting describes chronic malnutrition status during growth and development since early life. In the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020 - 2024, the Indonesian government set a target for the prevalence of… f stunting in children under five to only 14% in 2024 (Presidential Decree Number 18 of 2020 concerning RPJMN 2020 - 2024). Efforts were made to see the relationship that causes stunting, non-food consumption expenditure, early marriage, proper sanitation and active posyandu. This research is a type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach using logistic regression with data obtained through the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for 2017-2021. The Wald test results show that the Non-Food Consumption Expenditure variable receives H0, meaning that there is a negative and significant influence between non-food consumption expenditure on stunting. The variables of early marriage, proper sanitation and active posyandu reject H0, which means that in this study there is a positive and significant influence on stunting. The results of the omnibus test (F) show that the calculated f value is greater than the f table (4.951 > 2.43) with a significance level of (0.000 < 0.05), so H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that non-food consumption expenditure, early marriage, proper sanitation and active posyandu simultaneously influence the stunting rate.
