Determinants of Rice Consumption in South Sulawesi With A Panel Data Approach

Rahman, Abdul
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the factors that affect rice consumption in South Sulawesi Province using a panel data approach for 2018–2024. The dependent variables used are rice consumption (tons), while the independent variables… variables include per capita income, household size, rice production, human development index (HDI), and percentage of poor population. The analysis was performed with a panel data regression model using R software, with a series of model specification tests including the Chow test, the Hausman test, and the Lagrange Multiplier (LM) test. The best model obtained is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Partially, the variables of household size and rice production had a significant negative effect on rice consumption, while HDI had a significant positive effect. The variables of per capita income and poverty level have a negative but not significant effect. These results indicate that rice consumption in South Sulawesi is more influenced by social aspects and quality of life than purely economic factors. These findings affirm the importance of food security policies that focus on improving human development, rice distribution efficiency, and strengthening social protection programs to maintain the stability of household food consumption.

The Impact of SIAkad E-Service Quality and Campus Facilities on Institutional Image Through Student Satisfaction

Syah, Ibrahim, Riswan, Riswan, Mursalim, Hermawan, Endang
Abstract: The digital transformation in higher education requires universities to provide not only reliable technology-based academic services but also physical facilities that support the student learning experience. This study aims… ims to analyze the effect of the Academic Information System (SIAKAD) e-Service Quality and campus facilities on institutional image, with student satisfaction as an intervening variable. The study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire from 80 active students of STIMI-YAPMI Makassar selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using validity and reliability tests, path analysis, and the Sobel test to examine the mediating role. The results showed that e-Service Quality and physical facilities had a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction and institutional image. E-Service Quality had the most dominant influence on student satisfaction. Furthermore, student satisfaction was shown to mediate the effect of e-Service Quality on institutional image, but not the effect of physical facilities on institutional image. These results indicate that e-Service Quality shapes institutional image through student experience and satisfaction, while physical facilities act as a reputational symbol that directly influences image. This research provides theoretical contributions in the development of higher education service management models as well as practical implications for higher education managers in formulating strategies for improving service quality and strengthening the institution's image in a sustainable manner.

The Influence of Quality of Work Life and Personality on Organizational Commitment: A Case Study of Employees at UD Fatoni

Kesan Oktavian Ali, Mukmin Suryatni
Abstract: This study analyzes the influence of Quality of Work Life (QWL) and Personality (Big Five Personality Traits) on employee Organizational Commitment at UD Fatoni in Central Lombok, filling the empirical gap regarding the… interaction of external and internal factors in the context of local SMEs prone to high turnover. The main objective is to prove the partial and simultaneous influence of both variables on employee commitment. An explanatory quantitative approach was applied with a population of 40 employees using census techniques, primary data through a valid and reliable 5-point Likert questionnaire (Cronbach's Alpha >0.60), and multiple linear regression analysis via IBM SPSS 25 after the classical assumption test was met. The results showed that QWL had no significant effect partially (sig=0.253>0.05; β=0.149), while Personality had a significant positive effect (sig=0.002<0.05; β=0.604), with a strong simultaneous effect (F=8.852; sig=0.001) explaining 32.4% of the commitment variance. In conclusion, internal factors dominate loyalty in trading SMEs, providing theoretical contributions to organizational behavior models and practical implications for management in personality assessment and optimization of basic QWL for sustainable retention.
