Differences in Growth and Yield Responses of Several Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) Varieties in Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) Interrows

Nazatul Bairia, Hilda Pratiwi, Mizan Maulana
Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the response of several cayenne pepper varieties (Capsicum frutescens L.) on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper cultivated in the cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) alley cropping system. The research… arch was conducted from April to July 2025 at Mon Jambe Village, Jeumpa District, and the Kopbun Suka Tani Sejahtera Business Research Center, Kota Juang District, Bireuen Regency. The experiment employed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four varieties as treatments and three replications, resulting in 12 experimental units. The tested varieties were Rajo, Genie, Bara, and Tetra Hijau. Data were collected through observations of plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits, fruit weight, and fresh biomass weight, and were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine differences among treatments. The results showed that the varietal factor had a highly significant effect on leaf number and a significant effect on fruit number and fruit weight. The Bara variety exhibited the most adaptive and productive performance under the cocoa alley cropping system, as indicated by superior vegetative growth and yield compared to other varieties. The novelty of this study lies in emphasizing that varietal selection is a key factor in optimizing the utilization of cocoa alley spaces for cayenne pepper cultivation. These findings are expected to provide a scientific basis for developing cayenne pepper cultivation technologies in cocoa alley systems and to serve as a reference for further research on adaptive variety development under such environmental conditions.

The Transition from Conventional Constitutions to Digital Law: Constitutional Law Challenges in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Septia, Sya’baniatie Ninda
Abstract: The rapid advancement of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in the twenty-first century has fundamentally transformed the structure of modern constitutional governance. Digitalization has reshaped the interactions… teractions between governments and citizens, altered the patterns of political participation, and presented major challenges to constitutional principles. This study aims to analyze the implications of technological development for constitutional law and propose the concept of a digital constitution as an adaptive framework in the AI era. This study employs a normative legal method, using both conceptual and statutory approaches. Legal materials consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources, which are analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The findings reveal that, while digital transformation enhances governmental efficiency and public transparency, it also generates serious risks, including data misuse, digital surveillance, and political disinformation. These dynamics demand a reinterpretation of constitutional norms to protect citizens' digital rights in cyberspace. The concept of a digital constitution is proposed as a normative response that integrates digital rights into constitutional rights and reaffirms the principle of the rule of law within technological governance. To achieve a democratic and just constitutional order, it is crucial to strengthen regulatory frameworks, ensure algorithmic accountability, and foster collaboration among state institutions, civil society, and the private sector. Ultimately, constitutional law must evolve into an adaptive, transparent, and fair system that can address the profound challenges of the digital and AI-driven era.

Legal Protection For Consumers In Digital Transactions: Case Study And Analysis

Sri Anggraini Kusuma Dewi
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of legal protection for consumers in digital transactions in Indonesia. The method used is library research with a normative juridical approach. The results of the study indicate… ate that Indonesia actually has an adequate legal basis to protect digital consumers, which is primarily sourced from Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions. These regulations have set out basic principles such as the obligation of business actors to provide honest information, consumer rights to security, and the recognition of electronic evidence. However, its implementation in the field encounters various significant obstacles. Case studies on e-commerce and fintech platforms reveal that consumer losses still often occur, such as products that do not match the description, difficulties with refunds, and the vulnerability of personal data. The key finding of this study is that the main challenge lies not in the legal vacuum, but in three aspects: (1) low digital literacy and consumer law so that they are not optimal in fighting for their rights; (2) alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as BPSK and ODR (Online Dispute Resolution) which are not yet effective, fast, and easily accessible; and (3) weak supervision and law enforcement against unscrupulous business actors in the digital space. Therefore, it is concluded that digital consumer protection efforts require a holistic approach that relies not only on regulations, but also through massive public education, strengthening dispute resolution institutions, and closer synergy between the government, business actors, and the community.

Sandika Rhamadona, Panuju, Redi
Abstract: The digital era has significantly transformed lifestyles, particularly in Indonesia, where computer-mediated communication (CMC) now plays a prominent role in human interactions. In public spaces, individuals often prioritize… itize their digital devices over engaging with those around them. The rise of the internet generation has integrated media and communication into essential elements of daily life. This study focuses on the analysis of hashtag trends related to general elections, such as #capres2024, #cawapres2024, and #pemilu2024, on Instagram, and their influence on user perceptions. It examines the role of hashtags in CMC practices on Instagram during electoral periods. Through the analysis of seven samples, the study reveals that while certain posts align with the electoral purposes of the hashtags, others use these hashtags for visibility without relevance to the elections. The research underscores Instagram’s potential for reshaping political branding and enhancing voter engagement. It demonstrates that the strategic application of hashtags, combined with high-quality visuals and interactive features, can amplify the visibility and impact of political messaging. By integrating CMC and political branding theories, this study presents a framework for understanding how digital tools can foster a more engaged and informed electorate.

Fiqh Siyâsah Shar'iyyah Analysis of the Boycott of Pro-Israel Products Based on MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 concerning the Law of Support for the Palestinian Cause

Safdhinar Muhammad An Noor
Abstract: This research article seeks to review and analyze MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 concerning recommendations for calls and calls for boycotts of pro-Israel products based on the views of fiqh siyasah.  The aim is to find out how… ow the fiqh siyasah syar'iyyah views the boycott of pro-Israel products as a form of jihad and defense of the Palestinian state after the issuance of the MUI Fatwa ruling. This research uses a type of library research with a descriptive analysis approach. The results of the study found that in the view of fiqh siyasah boycott of pro-Israel affiliated products is mandatory if the boycott is believed to be harmful and difficult to the infidel Zionist Israel, and does not result in mafsadah for Muslims and a larger state than the mafsadah to be minimized. However, if the boycott actually brings violence and adversely affects Muslims, then the law does not become mandatory. Because in the rule that takes precedence is to anticipate the occurrence of mafsadah rather than realizing benefits. This is an effort to weaken the economy so that it can have a significant impact on stopping the military aggression carried out by Israel. That way, it will be very helpful to open a space for conflict peace between the two warring countries. But in various cases, this boycott must also pay attention and consider the negative impacts it causes, so as not to cause violence for Muslims and the country.

Mei Brilian Harefa, Dasrizal, Nurul Adha Sitorus, Egy Bremana Ginting, Junianty Dahnita Br Purba
Abstract: Lingga Village in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, is a cultural village that preserves the traditional architecture of the Karo people, particularly the Siwaluh Jabu traditional house, which reflects the community’s life philosophy,… philosophy, social order, and spirituality. The surrounding environment of these traditional houses remains poorly organized, with vacant land left unmanaged and declining awareness of cultural preservation, resulting in suboptimal utilization of the area’s aesthetic value, cultural function, and tourism potential. This community service program aims to arrange a cultural garden around the traditional houses while empowering the local community to manage the cultural landscape in a sustainable manner, with a focus on preserving cultural identity, improving environmental quality, and strengthening the local economy through the development of cultural tourism and agrotourism. The implementation method adopts a community-based participatory approach, carried out through several stages: site observation and mapping, focus group discussions, planning and designing the cultural garden, training and knowledge transfer, collective implementation of garden arrangement, as well as evaluation and documentation. The garden design integrates the orientation of the Siwaluh Jabu house, the cosmological meaning of space, ecological landscape principles, and the selection of local vegetation with symbolic, aesthetic, and economic value, organized into aesthetic, educational, and productive zones. The results of the program indicate the establishment of a well-arranged cultural garden rich in Karo cultural symbols, increased community capacity and participation, and the creation of a sustainable cultural landscape management model that functions as a “living laboratory” combining aesthetic, educational, economic, and spiritual roles. This model positions the community as the main actor and holds potential to be replicated in other cultural villages with similar characteristics.
