DETERMINATION OF LIFE INSURANCE PREMIUM AMOUNT BY COMBINING THE TRUE FRACTIONAL PREMIUM AND APPORTIONABLE FRACTIONAL PREMIUM METHODS

Muhlis, Fidiria Destika, Achmad, Novianita, Arsal, Armayani
Abstract: Fractional premium schemes in life insurance generally follow two main approaches: True Fractional Premiums, which are easy to implement but less fair to policyholders who die mid-period, and Apportionable Fractional Premiums,… miums, which are more actuarially fair but administratively more complex. This study designs a Hybrid Fractional Premiums model that combines both approaches through a weighted linear combination using parameter , based on the 2023 Indonesian Mortality Table (TMPI), a 5% interest rate, a 10-year coverage period, and monthly premium payments. This descriptive quantitative study applies actuarial mathematics, covering the present value of insurance benefits, true fractional, apportionable fractional, and hybrid annuity factors, up to premium determination using the equivalence principle. The results show that the hybrid premium consistently lies between the true fractional and apportionable premiums, increases sharply with the insured's age, and is higher for males than females due to differences in mortality rates. Changes in the value of have a linear effect on the premium, although the impact is relatively small (a difference of less than IDR 200 per month). The hybrid model with is recommended as the optimal balance between actuarial fairness and ease of implementation, offering a more flexible alternative for premium determination in Indonesia's life insurance industry.

Aprilianti, Alya, Pranowo, Agus Setyo, V. Purba, Jan Horas
Abstract: This study examines the role of customer value in mediating the relationship between social media marketing and service quality toward the decision to become a BritAma Prioritas customer at Bank Rakyat Indonesia Sukabumi… Branch. The key issue addressed in this study is the need to understand how digital marketing communication and priority banking service quality can be converted into meaningful value that influences premium customer decisions. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach involving 386 BritAma Prioritas customers as respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. The results show that social media marketing and service quality have positive and significant effects on customer value. Social media marketing, service quality, and customer value also positively and significantly influence customer decision. Customer value was found to be the strongest predictor of customer decision and significantly mediated the effects of both social media marketing and service quality. These findings indicate that customer acquisition in priority banking depends not only on promotional activities and service performance, but also on customers’ holistic value evaluation.

Geopolitical Risk and Stock Performance in Healthcare Industry (Case Study in Southeast Asia)

Kusherawati, Novia, Taufik Faturrohman
Abstract: The healthcare industry has historically been viewed as a non-cyclical, defensive, safe haven for investors. However, the post-pandemic period has revealed the industry's susceptibility to disruptions in global supply chains… ains and geopolitical tensions. The present research examines the effects of Geopolitical risk (GPR) on the stock performance of 76 publicly listed healthcare companies in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore) during 2015-2024. According to the Caldara and Iacoviello GPR Index, this study utilizes Panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) the results show that though general Geopolitical Risk and Inflation are strongly negatively impacting the stock performance, specific Geopolitical Acts (GPRA) and Threats (GPRT) are having a positive response indicating a necessity premium in which investors expect a boom in demand of medical supplies once a conflict is realized. It concludes that the healthcare industry is not a safe haven but a highly fragmented environment in which inflation poses a greater threat to companies than political instability. The study advises that investors should consider a bottom-up approach, specifically micro-resilience screening, and that corporate managers should focus on supply chain decoupling and inflation hedging to address the Resilience Gap identified in the region.

The Influence of Free Shipping and Online Customer Reviews on the Shopee Platform on Purchasing Decisions of Students of the Faculty of Economics, Nias University

Zebua, Reyan Janefata, Telaumbanua, Aferiaman, Kakisina, Sophia Molinda, Zebua, Serniati
Abstract: This study investigates the role of acquisition premiums in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and their impact on shareholder wealth, focusing on five major Indian deals in pharmaceuticals, retail, banking, steel, and renewable… able energy sectors. Potential synergies often justify acquisition premiums ranging from approximately 15% to 40% above target companies’ market values. However, market responses suggest that such premiums may not consistently result in value creation for acquiring firms' shareholders. Empirical findings reveal mixed outcomes: Sun Pharma’s acquisition of Ranbaxy led to a 9.8% share price increase within five days, while Tata Steel’s high-premium acquisition of Bhushan Steel saw only a 1.7% gain. In contrast, deals like Reliance–Future Retail and Tata Power–Welspun Power showed minimal or negative returns, despite sizable premiums. These patterns indicate that premium size alone is not a reliable predictor of post-deal shareholder wealth creation. The study concludes that M&A success depends more on strategic fit, market timing, and sectoral dynamics than on the premium offered. This analysis contributes to the broader M&A discourse by offering evidence-based insights into how premium valuations can either maximise or dilute shareholder value, aiding investors, corporate strategists, and policy analysts in deal assessment.

Beyond Cost Control: How AI-Powered Spend Orchestration Unlocks 7.3% Growth Premiums in 2025

Dzreke, Simon Suwanzy
Abstract: In an uncertain economic climate, a large global retailer used AI-powered spend intelligence to move $220 million from indirect operational costs toward high-impact R&D. In a difficult recession, this decisive step boosted… ed revenue by 11%, demonstrating the transformative impact of effective capital management. This achievement contrasts with "spend blindness," where industry studies show most financial leaders struggle to link expenditure patterns to strategic growth outcomes and resort to reactive cost-cutting. This study addresses this crucial gap. A thorough mixed-methods approach including a global survey of 400 CFOs, longitudinal case studies of ten multinational organizations, and advanced predictive modeling substantiated a new paradigm. Research shows that companies that understand AI-driven spend orchestration develop 7.3% faster than competitors. This premium comes from a 37% improvement in the Growth Efficiency Ratio (GER), a critical statistic for translating savings into innovation, and 5.8 times more strategic investment opportunities than standard financial approaches allow. The Spend Intelligence Quotient (SIQ), a groundbreaking statistic that assesses financial agility through integrated spend monitoring, predictive analytics, and rapid capital reallocation, is key to this advantage. This paper introduces the empirically based Spend Orchestration Framework and the requirements for the 2025 AI Finance Stack to obtain SIQ >80, the empirically proven threshold for sustainable competitive advantage. The message is clear: finance chiefs must go beyond oversight. Today's CFO may use predictive contracting and algorithmic governance to turn spend data into strategic leverage, ensure resilience, and capture disproportionate value in.

Beyond The Hype: a Real World Evaluation of Blockchain's Role in Democratizing Agri Food Systems

Dzreke, Simon Suwanzy
Abstract: Blockchain technology is touted for democratizing supply chains, but 30–40% of smallholder farmers are excluded from fair market participation due to information gaps and power imbalances. The first complete empirical examination… examination of blockchain's capacity to empower disadvantaged farmers in Global South agri-food systems. The paper examines 15 large-scale implementations, including Kenyan coffee cooperatives and Indian dairy collectives, using a rigorous mixed-methods methodology. Technical scalability in resource-limited situations, governance structures that promote meaningful multi-stakeholder engagement, and quantifiable inclusion results for small-scale farmers are thoroughly examined. Comparative case study, agent-based adoption modeling, and quasi-experimental effect evaluation by Propensity Score matching reveal that blockchain's potential is not automatic nor inherent in eight nations. Techno-institutional synergy, not technological complexity, improves democracy, the research shows. Hybrid governance systems with farmer-controlled validator nodes and tokenized decision-making rights enhanced smallholder involvement by 58% and premium retention by 78% over corporate-controlled systems. However, technologically sophisticated deployments without institutional expertise frequently increase power concentration and exclusion. The blockchain viability index helps identify optimal deployment conditions for different commodities, empirical evidence challenges the idea that decentralization automatically promotes inclusion, and the inclusion-by-design framework helps policymakers embed equitable principles into decentralized agri-tech from the start. This study shows food system digitization practitioners and scholars that genuine democratization occurs when technology drives institutional transformation.

Economic Signals from Acquisition Premiums: A Re-Analysis of Stock Price Fluctuations to Assess the Impact of Shareholder Wealth in M&A Transactions

PENGARUH BRAND IMAGE DAN PERCEIVED QUALITY TERHADAP WILLINGNESS TO PAY PREMIUM PADA PRODUK UMKM LOKAL

Joko, Tarjono
Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the effect of brand image and perceived quality on willingness to pay premium for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) products. Amid increasingly intense market competition with… imported goods and national brands, local MSMEs are required to build strong brand image and good perceived quality so that consumers are willing to pay a premium price. A quantitative approach with a causal research design was employed. The study population consisted of consumers who had purchased local MSME products within the past three months in Sukabumi and its surrounding areas. A total of 220 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 24 software. The results show that brand image has a positive and significant effect on willingness to pay premium with a coefficient of 0.45 (p<0.01), and perceived quality has a positive and significant effect with a coefficient of 0.39 (p<0.01). Simultaneously, both variables explain 54.2% of the variance in willingness to pay premium. These findings confirm that strengthening brand image and improving consumer-perceived product quality are key strategies for MSME actors to increase the selling value and competitiveness of local products
